Rio Grande Valley - South Texas in Fall

The Rio Grande Valley of south Texas is one of the most biologically diverse and well birded areas of the country. Fall in the valley is a great time to observe the many birds that can only be found in this small portion of the country.  We will explore the properties of the World Birding Centers like Bentson-Rio Grande State Park. Estero Llano Grande, Santa Anna National Wildlife Refuge, South Padre Island, Laguna Atascosa and more.

This trip is the perfect way to experience south Texas and the Rio Grande Valley at a relaxed and comfortable pace.  Easy walks on level terrain make this a spectacular place to visit while seeing a variety of birds seen nowhere else in the country. 

The trip will begin in San Antonio, Texas on November 10, 2019. Please make arrangements to be in San Antonio by 3pm for our 4 hour drive to the valley. 

All accommodations will have a continental breakfast, lunch stops will be along our route (some of these may be grab and go or fast food) and dinners will be at restaurants near our lodging. 

Water and snacks are provided in the van if needed.

Some evenings may have an after dinner portion of the trip for those interested. Listening to the sounds of the evening and possible owl walks are optional for all members of the group. 

Accommodations are for double occupancy. A single supplement cost is added for anyone without a roommate or those that prefer a single room. ​

All ground transportation, guide services, accommodations, entrance fees, tolls, snacks and water, continental breakfast at hotel, a custom designed trip T-shirt, specialty field notes checklist and group photo are all included. 

Each participant is responsible for their own meals, adult beverages, gratuities and airfare to and from San Antonio.

Reservations Begin July 31 at a first come, first served basis.

A deposit of 400.00 is due before October 15, 2019.

Final payment is due October 31, 2019.
